    TEACHER TOOLS
Want to send a student to the library?

You must send the student(s) with an "official library pass." The "official library pass" has been emailed to all faculty. The pass should be saved on your desktop so you have quick access and can print at your convenience. We do not accept handwritten or other personal passes. If you do not have a copy of the pass, email Kim O'Brien. If you are unable to print the pass, call the library at ext. 3600 and speak to an adult library staff member. Substitute teachers are not allowed to send students to the library.

Also, we can only take 3 students from your class at a time. If you need to send more you should schedule library time or send 3 students and then have them trade with another group of 3 and so on. 5th period (lunch), we can only take 1 student at a time.

Want to bring your class to the library?

Julie Daehnert schedules all classes in the library. Email her if you would like to schedule your class to come to the library. It is a good idea to plan about 2 weeks in advance. We will need a lesson plan and a copy of the assignment to prepare for your library day. Teachers must be with their class at all times in the library. Substitute teachers may not bring classes to the library. If a teacher has scheduled library time and is absent, alternate plans must be made for the sub.

Need a distance learning lab or computer lab?

We have access to a lab that is owned by Region 10. This lab is capable of virtual field trips and distance learning. For more information, contact Kim O'Brien by email. Note that Region 10 has preference over DeSoto High School and Freshman Campus for use of the DLL.

There are 2 computer labs on the high school campus. They are located in room 1110 (by the cafeteria) and room 2109 (upstairs). Contact Georgia Hurst (email or ext 1110, 2109) for reservation information.
